![]() Mainframe applications would be changed at most once a year and then only after weeks of testing in a non-production environment. When I have a stable application I go by the if it ain't broke, don't fix it, approach. If they break something with their new code then they can rely on customers to serve as unpaid testers and report back on the problem and the programmers can issue a fix the following week. Unfortunately the subscription model is great for the companies' profits but also allows the product developers to be lazy. I am done buying new versions.įew companies know how to write stable code and even fewer know how to test code as evidenced by the output from Adobe and Microsoft. I was initially very excited about the program, and spent a lot of money on versions, but as I said-no more. With so many good alternatives, I choose not to put up with that nonsense. I work offline, so I have no interest in having to connect to some spyware sight in order to use software that I paid for on my computer. On1 Software could be nice, but sadly poorly implemented in so many ways-not to mention annoying their users and the worst crop and straighten tools I have ever seen. And, if you check the DNS addresses of where ON1 connects to, it no longer has nothing to do with ON1 itself, but sends you to websites that Firefox considers unsafe. Where I am and how I use MY computer is no ones business.Īs I said, none of my other programs stop working or work incorrectly if they cannot connect to the Internet. from MS because they break stuff all the time. And I do not believe in forced updates, esp. Windows 10 is also spyware from what I have read.
